just thinking of hipster taylor hanson makes me laugh! i put on the underneath acoustic dvd friday night, just to have something on in the background while i did homework, and he looked like the taylor we knew and loved in that! he wasn't purposely dirty and wearing ridiculously tight pants and walking around cities barefoot yet. and young hanson fans baffle me - even more if they're hipsteresque! i actually brought this up with my friends - if i was 12 when i started listening to hanson, these girls must have still been in diapers at that time. i keep hoping this tour was the last of the walks but they have turned into a staple of a hanson concert now. have you seen the great divide toms? i just don't understand them, honestly. i hate to be cynical but i imagine most fans buying them are buying them to have hanson shoes, with the pair of shoes going to an african child as an added bonus.
anyway! i have 2 or 3 of johnny's songs but that's it; i don't even know what i have on my ipod because it's across the room and i'm being lazy. (that is what laptops have done to me!) i LOVED port authority. so glad that i went. i am still thinking about it and the emotions that it brought up in me. afterwards, my friend and i looked at each other and just said "let's go do something that makes us not want to cry" because of how close to home parts hit. i want to go back and am considering doing so. again, so glad that i went to see it.
i completely appreciated your realization about osp. it's amazing how dedicated they are to their fans, enough to keep going on even when they were unsure. i often feel like i really missed out on a lot because i have only experienced osp live post-johnny. but then i think about all the energy and well...awesomeness (not too eloquent tonight; it goes with the laziness!) that i've seen on stage the two times that i have seen them live!
writing these long comments makes me appreciate google alerts much more. :) and i would certainly be up for a tea date! the next time i will be in the city is next sunday (for spring awakening, of course) but - and i say this with fingers crossed - i plan on going up many times over the summer as well. so, we must get tea at some point. :)
